Borderline Artistic 1988
Mike Ellis was born on a sunny day in 1988 in Newmarket, Ontario. He enjoys a variety of mediums but leans towards the integration of analog and digital media. He is also a novice sculpture and installation artist. About to enter his thesis year at OCAD, he spends his time collecting things, especially comics, scraps of paper and bits of string. The Flyboys at Mitzi’s Sister
I would like to give credit for the bird missing a head to my friend Joren who originally came up with the idea in a sketch a few weeks ago. I re-appropriated it because it was such a cool image, thanks Joren!
Here is the original sketch I made, painted in photoshop. I’m pretty new to painting on the computer, so it’s a little sloppy. Now that I’m at home in Barrie for the holidays, I don’t have my large monitor and I forgot my tablet in Toronto. I’m back to working on my macbook’s tiny 13 inch screen… It’s hard to believe that I worked like this for years!
